The Foundation strives to develop athletes’ character and self-assurance, teach fundamental athletic skills, and expose young people to the atmosphere and camaraderie of sports. We believe that every young person deserves the chance to participate in youth sports and gain the many benefits that supervised amateur athletic programs provide. Part 1 of our Equipment Drive Success for United Heroes League (formerly Defending the Blue Line)...August 8th and 9th Power Hour hosted an equipment drive & collected upwards of 1000 pieces of Hockey Equipment ...Thank you Junior Sharks & Bay Area Hockey families!
This event would not be possible without the Shukait family and the Military personnel that volunteer hours of work- Angela Cobra TSgt Ca ANG, SGT Steve Rodseth, Darin Pon, Tai Machey Shittu, SSgt. Bryson Barnette and SFC Jeremy Krabbe.
Part 2 Calvin Brockett, former Power Play owner, made an historic donation of brand new hockey equipment to UHL (United Heroes League, formally Defending the Blue Line)...hundreds probably thousands of military kids will be touched by this massive giving!
Our team arrived to sort, pallet and pack what we guessed would be 30+ pallets, but the number ended up over double - 65+ Pallets...really unbelievable. Heartfelt gratitude to Calvin and also the extremely hard work by the Andrade & Shukait families, Carla Whyte, Angela Cobra TSgt., and SMSgt Brian Cantrell and Son...Team effort at it's best.

What do you get when you join two foundations, sports celebrities, people who care and an amazing team of volunteers? You get a phenomenal event that benefits the Silver Creek Sportsplex Foundation and United Heroes League!
United Heroes League was asked to partner with the Silver Creek Sportsplex Foundation to host their 5th Celebrity Luncheon on February 27, 2017. The missions of the two foundations mirror each other so it was a natural fit. David Maley, founder of the Silver Creek Sportsplex Foundation and Cathy Andrade, United Heroes League NorCal representative, collaborated on how to make this event happen.
This year’s event doubled in size with 50 tables set up on a roller rink at the Silver Creek Sportsplex. A wonderful meal was provided by Myles McEntee, owner of High Five at the Plex. Master of Ceremonies for the event was play-by-play announcer and Bay Area Hall of Famer Dan Rusanowsky. Randy Hahn, 5 Time Emmy Award Winner and TV play-by-play announcer and voice of the Sharks was our live auction expert. Attending were Brent Burns and Paul Martin who endorse UHL and are two of UHL’s 90+ professional athlete supporters. Guests included a group of San Jose Sharks players led by Captain Joe Pavelski, Sharks Coaches, Sharks Alumni, and Northern California Military service members. Also in attendance were other local athletes and two Bay Area Olympians, Edward Burke, hammer thrower and Polina Edmunds, figure skater.
This amazing event included many silent auction and live auction items and a raffle drawing of a beautiful gold and diamond necklace donated by Joe Escobar Diamonds along with a framed flag that was flown over Afghanistan. We are very appreciative to our main sponsors, Wayin and the Sharks Foundation, along with nine other sponsoring individuals and companies. We could not have been so successful without their support.
When all was said and done, this wonderful event raised over $115,000 for the Silver Creek Sportsplex Foundation and United Heroes League. The money raised will have a significant impact on Northern California and military families. A huge THANK YOU from the Silver Creek Sportsplex Foundation and United Heroes League goes to all who attended, sponsored, donated, and contributed. The event will help us continue to move forward honoring and supporting the families of our nation’s heroes.
U.S. Soccer to join forces with United Heroes League for soccer equipment drive in San Jose.
This soccer equipment drive will benefit children of military families here in the Bay Area. The drive took place the week leading up to the World Cup Qualifying match between USA and Honduras. Collection bins were placed at the San Pedro Square Market and Avaya Stadium and then the equipment was delivered to Moffett Field military base for distribution.
Thank you all for your support as we expand our reach for our nation’s heroes through other sports! Special thanks to Pam and Keith Shukait for their endless efforts!!!
